It doesn't quite stack up to their seminal 'Eve' LP but Ufomammut's 8th trip of trance-inducing, cosmic doom is still as crushing and relentless as it gets. Spliced with sci-fi oscillations, other worldly vocal miasma and thundering bass, guitar and drums, this Italian trio excel when the sound is as dense as a black hole. Norna has created an album that showcases everything that is defined by all what is heavy. I mean I can't even get the full album yet, but what I hear is the heaviest thing I've heard in donkey's years. Norna are crushing in the same way that bands like Will Haven, LLNN and Cult Of Luna Darknight
Extremely atmospheric and quite varied, but not as polished as their later work. Still stands well on its own though. At first I was weirded out by the short instrumental tracks, but now I *really* dig them. dan-rod
